Rennie Street: the 1940s

The cross street visible in this picture is South Clinton Avenue.  The long building upper left is the White City Poller Rink.  Genesee Street crosses at the end of building.  The building visible where the vehicles are is the Rusling Hose Company fire house.  The large building, upper right behind the trees, is Rowan School.  Below is a picture of Rennie Street from the other direction.

White City Roller Rink

Hamilton Township Public Library Local History collection

The White  City Roller Rink operated in the building pictured above located between Genesee Street and South Clinton Avenue along Rennie Street.  Many might remember the building being the home of Jackson Distributors for many years. It is reported that the roller rink was a popular place from its opening until its closing sometime during World War II.
