Rowan/Willey Mansion

This is a picture taken from a glass negative and shows the Andrew K. Rowan Mansion situated on the large Rowan farm in the late 19th Century. The mansion was purchased by Eugene S. Willey in 1900.

This photograph taken circa 1915 shows South Broad Street with Park Avenue in the background.  The Willey Mansion is located to the far left.

  2. Yes, the home still stands, though would be hard to recognize from these pictures.

    Thanks again Jim for honoring the family with the pictures. I wish the home still stood as it was. I would love to go through it!

  6. I think this house in on the corner of Park Ave and Schiller, it's yellow as well. Still looks the same somewhat.

  8. If you go on Google Maps you can see from the aerial view that the house that is just about in the middle of Lafayette Avenue is what used to be the back of the old Willey Mansion. It is divided up into at least 2 apartments from what is now the 2 "front" entrances on the building. The aerial view shows the different peaks of the roof top. Since my kids & I love history, we were actually looking for this house just about a week ago & the updated picture on your site confirmed that we had located the correct house! Love your site Jim!
