1962: Fire at Mansion

Trenton Evening Times, December 12, 1962

It was a benefit to Broad Street Park that the loss of this historic building was averted.  The mansion's existence has been traced back to 1820.  It was the focal point of the White City Amusement Park.  The mansion, known today as the Abbott Overlook Mansion, is being restored to its former glory.

  1. Jim! You're the best!!! The damage from this fire is what made the back staircase collapse through the back room. When we began tearing out the rooms ALL of the wood is black and charred. Thanks so much for the info!!!
