1929: Willey Diamond Contest

Trenton Evening Times, July 30, 1929

This announcement to two local teams facing each other is interesting as is the writer's terminology in explaining the positions on the baseball diamond.  Catching pitches is hold the slants, cavorting aroud the initial sack for playing first base, etc.  Unfortunately, as often happened, there was no follow-up reporting as to the outcome of the game.
