The original church was erected in 1858 on land donated by Mary Hopkinson, granddaughter of Isaac Pearson, on the White Horse Road (South Broad Street). In 1895 the church was renovated and again in 1900. In 1898 the congregation built a parsonage on land purchased from A.K. Rowan in Broad Street Park. The parsonage was sold in 1909 and a new parsonage was erected on church property. The 75th anniversary of the organization of the church and the dedication of a new church were celebrated in May 1932.
