Older newspapers are invaluable for providing local history.  Without this article published over fifty years ago, we may not have known that it was through the efforts of Parkers that these grand steps were uncovered.  The steps, deteriorated as a result of neglect, can be seen today in the John A. Roebling Memorial Park.
